Three bodies were recovered from a collapsed Chinese subway tunnel and rescuers searched for 17 others feared dead, UPI quoted officials as saying. Construction workers were laboring to complete a 250-foot section of subway tunnel in eastern China's Hangzhou City when it collapsed Saturday afternoon, trapping workers and creating a surface crater into which 11 vehicles fell, the state-run Chinese news agency Xinhua reported. "There is a slim chance for the survival of trapped workers because of heavy flooding in the crater," spokesman Wang Guangrong told Xinhua. The builder of the tunnel, China Railway Construction Group Co. Ltd., said it has called in experts to perform a safety review of the tunnel's construction processes. Authorities evacuated three families living near the cave-in site, whose houses were to be razed to make way for equipment needed in the rescue attempts.
