One person was killed and eight others injured after a building in China's eastern Zhejiang Province collapsed on Sunday morning, Xinhua reported. The accident happened at about 7 a.m., when a three-storey building which was under construction collapsed in the Shanhe village of Xiaoshan district in Zhejiang's capital Hangzhou. Nine workers were on the construction site. Seven managed to escape while two were buried. Rescuers pulled the pair out about an hour later, one of whom later died on the way to hospital while the other was in serious condition. The cause of the accident was being investigated. Xiaoshan was brought to spotlight on Nov. 15, when a subway tunnel collapsed, leaving 17 dead and four missing so far. The tragedy triggered nationwide safety checks on subways under construction.
