Arab League officials have appreciated the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to promote dialogue between religions and cultures, embodied in its adoption by the United Nations and holding a dialogue meeting between the followers of religions at the General Assembly in New York. In statements to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), they noted the great international welcome of the King's initiative. The officials included Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and Arab occupied territories at the Arab League Ambassador Mohammed Sobeih; Head of the Office of Secretary-General of Arab League Ambassador Hisham Yosef and Director of the Human Rights Department of Arab League Ambassador Mahmoud Rashed.
