Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League for Palestinian Affairs Mohamed Sobeih asserted that the upcoming Arab summit scheduled to be held later this month in Riyadh will renew emphasis on the Arab peace initiative without amendment. In a statement today, Sobeih said that the Palestinian delegation which will participate in the Arab summit will be led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and will include Prime Minister Ismael Haniya and the newly selected Foreign Minister. Sobeih deplored the Israeli conditions regarding the rejection of the return of refugees, Al-Quds, borders and withdrawal, describing the Arab peace initiative as an historic opportunity for Israel. He stressed on the need for cooperation to lift the siege from the Palestinian people and addressed Palestinian prisoners issue, calling on Israel to open the exitry points and stop the continuous aggression against the Palestinian people.
