The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu will participate at the high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on interfaith and intercultural dialogue which will be convened under the agenda item 45 “Culture of Peace” on November 12-13 at the invitation of the President of the 63rd Session of the General Assembly. The meeting is going to be held at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to inform the General Assembly of the process initiated at the World Conference on Dialogue held in Madrid on July 16-18, 2008 and invite the UN member countries to engage in the said process, according to a press release of the OIC. The OIC Secretary General will highlight at the meeting OIC's commitment to intercultural and interfaith dialogue in order to promote the culture of peace in the world.
