Saadi, director of King Fahd Industrial Port told the Jeddah-based Arab News that the port was expected to handle more than 82 million tons of goods and to receive more than 1,700 ships and tankers by the end of the current year. He said the first and second phases of developing the port have cost more than SR400 million. The King Fahd Industrial Port, which is 35 km long, is the only industrial port on the Red Sea and the longest in the Middle East.
