A culprit was killed in Riyadh today for having set fire to a prison, killing 69 and injuring 21 of suffocation and causing serious damage to the building, announced the Ministry of Interior. In a statement, the Ministry said that Saad bin Fihaid bin Mubarak Al-Sibaie, Saudi national, pleaded guilty that he has set Al-Haer Reformatory ablaze on 18/7/1424 H. while serving a sentence at the facility. Due to the horrible crime he committed, the great human and material losses resulting from it and his confession that he deliberately set fire to the place and did not report to any person or authority to deter or alleviate the anticipated losses, the culprit was sentenced to tongue-lashing death, the Ministry said, adding that the rule to kill him was carried out today in Riyadh after being endorsed by the supreme authorities according to Islamic Sharia law.
