The upcoming Arab economic summit due to be hosted by Kuwait will herald a new chapter in inter-Arab cooperation, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Bahrain said Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah, during a reception that grouped Arab diplomats at his residence, said the summit, due in January, might signal start of unifying Arab ranks for service of the higher interests of the nation. It is also expected to open new horizons of cooperation for promotion and progress of the Arab people so that the nation may occupy a high status on the international economic map, he said. He also expressed his belief that the top-level conference would usher in a new phase of joint Arab action and "create a new spirit for the Arab cooperation." The summit is to be held as a result of an initiative by Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
