The meetings of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Health Ministers under the chairmanship of Saudi Minister of Health Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Manea started here today to discuss the Arab Economic, Developmental and Social summit on the sidelines of the 55th session of the Regional Middle Eastern Committee. After the meeting, Dr. Al-Manea said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), "The meeting dealt with issues to be submitted to the coming Arab Economic Summit". About the challenges facing the health sector in the Arab world, Dr. Al-Manea said there are many challenges and the prominent one is the lack of funding in the Arab world, especially in light of the current financial crisis witnessed by the Arab world which will be reflected negatively on the health services in the Arab world. He pointed out that the quality of health services and its increase will be reflected positively on the economic situation. About the presence of Arab plan to meet the current financial crisis which affects the health services, Dr. Al-Manea emphasized that the current health services have not been affected by the current crisis, expressing his hope that this crisis is a temporary one and that Arab countries are prepared to face this crisis safely.
