A tectonic earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit Melonguane, North Sulawesi, at 11:05:22 West Indonesia time on Tuesday, ANTARA quoted the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) as reporting. The earthquake did not have the potential to trigger tsunami, the agency said. The epicenter of the quake was located at 3.82 degrees northern latitude and 126.81 degrees eastern longitude. The center of the quake was 127 kilometers southeast of Melonguane, at a depth of 50 kilometers below sea level.
