German President Horst Koehler congratulated Muslims this morning on Eid Al-Fitr. In an address broadcast by the first and second TV stations, Koehler asserted that Muslims are part of the German society and the fasting season was an opportunity for rapprochement among German Muslim and non-Muslim communities. In London, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown expressed today sincere congratulations to all Muslims on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. In a message addressed to the Muslims in Britain and the world, Brown said " I am pleased to extend my best wishes to all Muslims on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr." "On this special occasion for all Muslims, we commend the significant contributions made by the British Muslims to the British society for several decades", he added.
