Prince Turki al-Faisal participated here yesterday in a meeting pertaining to the international Clinton initiative, held under the chairmanship of former US President Bill Clinton. The initiative aims at finding a nongovernmental forum for discussing the challenges facing the world in the domains of combating poverty, improving educational syllabuses, and programs of health care. The meeting is attended by a number important personalities including democratic candidate Barack Obama and his repulsion opponent Johan McCain in addition to Iraqi President Jalal Talbani and British Premier Gordon Brown. Prince Turki participated in the seminar which reviewed the problems of education and urban development within the framework of the initiative. He briefed the participants of the seminar on the big strides made by Saudi Arabia in the educational sector. He noted that the Saudi officials have been giving a great attention to the educational sector because they do believe that the youth constitute the real wealth of the country. As regards the problems of energy, Prince Turki said the Saudi oil policy is based on realizing balance between the interests of the producers and consumers.
