Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, inaugurated last night the 11th Islamic Arts Festival, being held at the Sharjah Art Museum by the Art Section of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information. More than 130 activities, including exhibition, symposia, workshops, forums, performing art, courses and competitions, have been lined up for the festival, which will last for 45 days. Eleven countries, including China, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen, Jordan and the UAE, in addition to 16 official institutions, including universities and private institutions, as well as 440 artists are participating in the annual festival, the UAE news agency "WAM" reported.
