Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Thursday discussed major bilateral and regional issues in a meeting with special envoy of Senegalese president to Iran, Ahmad Khalifa Niaz, IRNA reported. Niaz, currently here to discuss issues of mutual interests with Iranian officials, expressed Dakar's willingness to promote bilateral relations with Tehran. Referring to the existing potentials to strengthen Iran-Senegal cooperation in the fields of energy, trade and economic activities, the special envoy hoped that Tehran and Dakar would further serve national interests with consistent exchanges of views. Meanwhile, Iran's foreign minister expressed hope that the two capitals would take more serious steps towards boosting bilateral cooperation through finding new mechanisms. Referring to great significance attached by Iran to promote bilateral ties with African states, Senegal in particular, Mottaki voiced Tehran's readiness to share its experiences with Dakar in various strategic fields.
