Yemeni Prime Minister Ali Muhammad Mujawar met on Wednesday with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representative Clear Borjwa, Saba reported. The meeting dealt with issues in relation to improving the conditions of refugees in Yemen particularly Somalis through providing houses and humanitarian aid for them. The meeting discussed the possibility of issuing a refugee law. Mujawar assessed the impact of refugees on the country's economy specifically as refugees flow into the country in daily numbers. He said Yemen should receive international support to be able to deal with refugees problems, stressing the importance of transparent contact between the government and the UNHCR and good coordination to implement programs aimed at improving the refugees conditions. For her part, Porjwa praised the Yemeni efforts to cooperate with the UNHCR on the refugees issues and expressed the UNHCR readiness to provide technical assistant to the Yemeni authorities.
