Qatari Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr al-Thani said the proposals of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, presented at Doha Summit, were activated at the meeting recently held in Jeddah between King Abdullah and the Qatari Emir. Meanwhile, during his press meeting he held in Jeddah last night, al-Thani denied the reports which said that the recent visit paid by the Qatari Emir to Iran aimed at extending invitation to the Iranian President to attend the next GCC Summit, due to be held in Muscat. He noted that the visit aimed at getting acquainted with the recent developments and developing relations between the GCC member states and Iran. On the stand of the GCC member states vis-à-vis the Russian-Georgian dispute; al-Thani said the GCC member states will take a neutral stand in this respect. He hoped that the dispute will be peacefully settled. Al-Thani pointed out that the GCC member states have been coordinating as regards usage of nuclear energy.
