Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabr Al-Thani on Tuesday said the proposals of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, presented at Doha Summit, were activated at the recent meeting between the Saudi Monarch and the Qatari Emir. Addressing a press conference here on the sidelines of the GCC foreign ministers meeting, Al-Thani denied reports suggesting that the recent visit paid by the Qatari Emir to Iran was aimed at extending an invitation to the Iranian president to attend the next GCC summit in Muscat. He noted that the visit was aimed at becoming acquainted with recent developments and at developing relations between GCC member states and Iran. He said the GCC member states will take a neutral stand on the Russia-Georgia dispute. He hoped that the dispute would be peacefully settled soon.
