The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Ministry of Health and the Minister of Health, Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Manie on receiving two awards of Global Partnership Award granted to the Ministry of Health and for the pioneering role played by the Minister of Health in this area over the past years . In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Director General of the Executive Bureau of the Council of GCC Ministers of Health Dr. Tawfiq bin Ahmed Al Khoja said that the Minister of Health was granted Regional Achievement Award, pointing out that the Minister has played a prominent role in the adoption of the World Health Organization of the initiative against blindness and urged Gulf states to support this initiative as well as his distinguished role in drafting resolutions submitted to the Organization's General Assembly. Dr. Khoja commended the efforts exerted by Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of Regional Bureau of International Agency for Prevention of Blindness for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, pointing in this regard to the Prince's cable to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince which indicated that the awards have culminated the King's efforts in support of these initiatives in line with the Kingdom's noble message in the service of all mankind.
