The Director General of the Grain Silos and Flour Mills Authority in Makkah said over 500,000 bags of flour have been supplied to the JeddahMakkah markets to meet the 50 percent increase in flour demand during Ramadan. Ali Sangouf said the silos acquired the extra quantities of flour for distribution to bakeries and other flour dealers, based on figures provided by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. In a report published today by Saudi Gazette, he said the grain silos for Makkah and Jeddah are being supported by the branches in Madinah, Tabuk, Qassim and Hail in order to ensure a constant supply of flour during Ramadan. The cooperation of the other silos was the reason why the extra flour was able to be supplied to Jeddah and Makkah. --MORE
