Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace here today. At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the cabinet on the contacts and meetings he held over the last few days. In this context, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques valued the meetings held with King Mohammad VI of Morocco, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and President Mohammad Hosni Mubarak of Egypt. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani said that the cabinet stressed the importance of relations between the kingdom and the brotherly Arab states, the ties binding them and the need for integration of Arab efforts to deal with the challenges facing the Arab world and the joint Arab action. The cabinet, the minister added, stressed in this context that ending regional tensions in the region requires showing good will, unifying voices, and adopting ways of dialogue and understanding "away from unilateral measures and their possible results of reactions that do not serve any body's interest." The cabinet also affirmed that the urgent issues facing the Arab world in Palestine, Iraq, Darfur, the African Horn, Mauritania and the Arab Gulf require an essential unified national action and forward drive, support, and effective position at the level of the Arab world and its political, cultural and civil institutions. --More
