Houti lauded the results of talks held by Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah with the Filipino side. Al-Houti said, "Talks tackled means of boosting bilateral relations in all fields and focused on encouraging businessmen on both sides to contribute to the increase of investment and trade exchange. Sheikh Nasser arrived in Manila yesterday on the last leg of an Asian tour. Al-Houti noted that the two sides expressed the desire to open new horizons for cooperation, especially in the commercial and investment sector, noting that Kuwait had made facilitations that would no doubt be attractive to investors of the Philippines. The Kuwaiti ambassador to the Philippines said representatives of the Filipino government expressed readiness to remove all obstacles that stood in the way of raising trade and investment, and highly commended this historic visit by the Kuwaiti premier as a means to push forth bilateral relations. Moreover, he said the two sides discussed bilateral agreements that would boost cooperation and hoped that they would be inked before the end of the visit so that they may form the basis for further bolstering ties. Al-Houti added that the meeting also touched on activating the tourism agreement signed between the two countries.
