Health Minister Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mane said that a national company specialized in medical equipment sought help from an expatriate in the Kingdom to bribe one of the employees at the minister's office to drop a fine worth several millions of Saudi Riyals as a result of the company's failure to abide by a contract with the ministry. In a press conference held here today at the Ministry of Health, the Minister said that coordination with administrative investigation officials was conducted to make an appropriate ambush to arrest the representative of the company while handing over the amount of bribery to the employee "Bandar Al-Sharif". The Minster pointed out that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud have ordered to grant the employee at the Minister's office "Bandar Al-Sharif" a substantial financial reward for his trustworthiness and cooperation in exposing such attempt. The Minister also said that the company involved in the bribery will be put on the black list and the fine will be doubled. "The aim of announcing this attempt of bribery is to warn against committing such an act", the Minster added.
