Some 33 hot spots of forest fires have been detected by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellite in Riau Province, Sumatra, ANTARA reported. The hot spots were producing haze which had affected visibility in Pekanbaru, Didin Sulianto of the Pekanbaru meteorology and geophysics office, said here on Wednesday. Visibility decreased to 2,000 meters at around 7 am local time on Wednesday, he said. The hot spots were located in Bengkalis, Kampar, Kuantan Singingi, Rokan Hilir, and Siak Districts.
