The First Saudi Gulf Exhibition for Luxurious Goods was inaugurated here today and will last for two days with the participation of 60 Saudi, Gulf and British companies. Also, a number of Gulf and global designers participate in the exhibition. Dr. Afnan Al-Shuaibi, Secretary General and Executive President of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, said the goal of London's first of its kind fair is to strengthen and enhance the commercial relations between the markets of the member states of the GCC and the United Kingdom, an important trade partner for the Arab world and a favorite destination for Arab tourists. She added that the exhibition provides a chance for business community from both sides to meet and exchange benefits. The fair will also exhibit the world's most precious Abaya (Saudi-Gulf women body flowing outer-cover) expected to fetch more than Sterling Pounds 175,000, part of which will go to the Islamic Relief Organization, according to organizers. For his part, Osama Al-Awam, member of the exhibition's Organizing body, said the event will be held annually upon support of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce. Hundreds of visitors are expected to drop at the exhibition over the first two days and witness the conclusion of sizable deals among international companies.
