Dollar mixed, gold up in Europe

The U.S. dollar was mixed against other
major currencies in European trading early Thursday. Gold
rose, AP reported.
The euro traded at US$1.5613, up from US$1.5574 late
Wednesday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
_ 108.20 Japanese yen, up from 108.10
_ 1.0477 Swiss francs, down from 1.0487
_ 1.0217 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0239
The British pound was quoted at US$1.9802, down from
US$1.9814
Gold traded in London at US$912 per troy ounce, up from
US$897.50 Wednesday.
Silver traded at US$17.48 per troy ounce, up from US$17.12
Wednesday.
