The largest US mobile phone maker Motorola reported Thursday a small profit in the second quarter of 2008, reported the DPA. The company reported a net income of 4 million dollars compared with a loss of 28 million dollars the previous year. Turnover fell by 7.4 per cent to 8.1 billion dollars, the company headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois reported. Mobile phone sales continued to decline, dropping by 22 per cent to 3.3 billion dollars. Some 28.1 million mobiles were sold, putting Motorola third behind Nokia and Samsung in global sales. Motorola has cut over 9,000 jobs in the past year.
