A top Russian official will visit China this weekend for high-level talks on energy policy, coming amid surging Chinese demand for oil, AP said. Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, who oversees Russia's energy industry, will begin his two-day visit on Saturday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said Thursday. Meetings with Beijing's trade envoy, Vice Wang Qishan, will focus on launching a bilateral energy negotiation mechanism that had been previously agreed on, Liu said. He did not give specifics of the planned discussions.
