Oil prices rose Monday in Asia to near US$130 a barrel. Midafternoon in Singapore, light, sweet crude for August delivery was up 91 cents at US$129.79 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Monday's price increase came after crude fell more than US$18 from a trading record of US$147.27 hit on July 11. The contract settled at US$128.88 on Friday, down 41 cents, according to a report of the Associated Press. In other Nymex trade, heating oil futures rose 2.2 cents to US$3.7135 a gallon (3.8 liters) while gasoline prices rose 2.76 cents to US$3.1985 a gallon. Natural gas futures rose 14.5 cents to US$10.715 per 1,000 cubic feet. In London, September Brent crude rose 78 cents to US$130.97 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
