Oil prices steadied above US$137 a barrel Tuesday, the Associated Press reported. Light, sweet crude for August delivery rose 85 cents to US$137.59 a barrel in Asian electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by midafternoon in Singapore. The contract rose US$1.38 to settle at US$136.74 a barrel Monday. In other Nymex trading, heating oil futures added 3.5 cents to US$3.8314 a gallon (3.8 liters) while gasoline prices rose 0.97 cent to US$3.4648 a gallon. Natural gas futures added 3.9 cents to US$13.242 per 1,000 cubic feet. Brent crude futures rose US$1.08 to US$136.99 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange in London.
