Jamal Al-Shuweikh, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egypt's International News Organization said Thursday the call of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to convene the World Conference on Dialogue was made at the most suitable time because the world is now in dire need of constructive dialogue and peaceful coexistence. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said it will be difficult to correct the wrong ideas about Islam caused by terrorists and extremists, except through a logical dialogue with the followers of revealed messages and oriental philosophies across the globe. On his part, Editor-in-Chief of the Cairo-based 'Aqeedati" newspaper Mejdi Salih highlighted the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this respect, and said Spain is the most suitable place for convening the conference because it was the gate from which the Islamic civilization had earlier reached Europe. Head of the religious department at the Cairo-based Al-Ahram newspaper Saeed Halawi underscored the importance of dialogue. He called for establishing a mechanism for implementing the decisions of the conference.
