Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Ambassador to Spain, said that choosing Spain to host this conference is due to the historic legacy enjoyed by Spain where the followers of the three divine religions have been living since a long time ago. In a press statement following his visit to the headquarters of the International Conference for Dialogue in Auditorium Hotel in Madrid, he said, "Spain's King Juan Carlos I and the Spanish government welcomed the hosting of the conference in the capital, Madrid." He added that all preparations and arrangements for the conference are made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the concerned authorities. He explained that the role of the Saudi embassy in Madrid is to prepare the appropriate ground for the work of the special committees of the conference. On choosing this particular time for holding this conference, he said, "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has a vision started by holding in the kingdom the national dialogue which started several years ago. But, as a leader, he thought it was time to hold the dialogue not just in the kingdom or the Islamic world but to extend the dialogue to include followers of the divine religions and cultures and civilizations in various countries of the world. This is his vision. As a leader, he shouldered the responsibility of achieving this matter." Prince Saud bin Naif said the gathering of the followers of the divine religions and cultures and civilizations from various countries of the world here is an achievement in its own." Prince Saud bin Naif said the conference will not go into who is wrong and who is right but it is for agreeing on the new virtues shared by all. The world in this particular time needs dialogue. This is what we hope will be achieved in this conference.
