The International Conference on Dialogue to be organized by the Secretariat General of the Makkah-based Muslim World League in Madrid from 16 -18 July 2008 under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will discuss five issues over three-day working sessions. At the opening session of the conference, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will deliver a speech in which he inaugurates the works of the conference. During the opening session, King Juan Carlos I of Spain, Prime Minister of Spain Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and Secretary General of Muslim World League Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsin Al-Turki will deliver speeches. The first session to be held on Wednesday will be held under the theme (Dialogue and Its Religious and Civilization Foundations) and will be chaired by Dr. Bawa Jain, Secretary General of Millennium World Peace Summit for Religious and Spiritual Leaders of the United Nations. During the session, Dr. Hussain Hamid Hassan, Shari'ah Observer at Dubai Islamic Bank will talk about Dialogue in Islam. Also, Dr. Tariq Mitri, Minister of Culture of Lebanon and who is the Member of World Council of Churches in Lebanon will talk about Dialogue in Christianity. After that, Rabbi Arthur Schneir who is the Founder and Chairman of Appeal of Conscience Foundation in USA will talk about Dialogue in Judaism. Then, Dr. M. M. Verma Director of Interfaith Foundation in India will talk about Dialogue in Oriental Creeds (Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Confucianism). -- More
