The euro and the British pound were flat against the U.S. dollar on Friday as fears stirred in the U.S. that the worst of the housing crisis may not be over, AP reported. The 15-nation euro bought US$1.5780 in morning European trading, down slightly from the US$1.5783 it bought in New York late Thursday. The British pound bought US$1.9782, edging higher from the US$1.9775 it bought late Thursday. In other trading, the dollar bought 107.18 Japanese yen compared with 107.02 yen late Thursday in New York.
