A Spanish radio station says 15 Africans, including nine small children, have died while trying to reach Spain in a small overcrowded boat, according to AP. Cadena Ser radio says the boat was intercepted Wednesday night off the coast of southern Almeria province after spending five days at sea. Cadena Ser says 33 people were rescued and they told police that 14 others had died during the trip and their bodies were thrown overboard. The report said the fatalities included nine children between the ages of 12 months and four years. A woman who was rescued in the boat died before reaching the hospital. Police were not immediately available for comment.
