Fire ravaged hundreds of kiosks in the Wage market here on Saturday night but there was no immediate report on casualties but material loss was still being determined, ANTARA reported. Yadi, one of the traders at the market, said the fire was believed to come from one of the kiosks on the first floor of the market. "When the fire broke out I was at home. But according to information and my own observation, the fire likely originated from one of the kiosks in Block B on the first floor," he said. Most of the kiosks sold chicken meat, beef, food seasonings and rice. By early Sunday, the fire had still not been totally put out. Chief of the Banyumas district police Adjunct Chief Commissioner Heri Prasodjo said fire fighters with the help of security personnel were trying hard to put out the flames by mobilizing eight fire engines. An ANTARA journalist observed fire fighters had difficulties putting out the flames as most of the kiosks were made of wood. Sunday's fire was the second in three months.
