The price for crude oil produced by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) climbed to a new high above 137 dollars Wednesday, a statement by OPEC said Thursday, according to dpa. One barrel (159 litres) of OPEC-produced crude stood at 137.73 dollars Wednesday, up 0.79 dollars from 136.94 dollars on the previous day. OPEC calculates an average basket price based on 13 important brands produced by cartel members.
