The Canadian government has set aside 140 million Canadian dollars to help the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) province which was hit by a devastating tsunami in 2004, ANTARA quoted Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia John T Holmes as saying today. The ambassador said his country had set aside 140 million dollars and some of it had been channeled for the construction of houses for tsunami victims and for the strengthening of Aceh's regional administration. Ambassador Holmes was here to attend the inauguration of the office of the Forum for Communications of Aceh District Governments (FKKA). He said Canada's assistance program would end in 2009.
