A working team will hold a meeting here on Tuesday to discuss the joint march of member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the field of higher education. The working team has been assigned to study reactions of the authorities concerned with higher education towards the decision of the GCC Supreme Council, held in Doha in December 2007 about the proposal of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud pertaining to the acceleration of performance as well as removal of obstacles that obstruct the march of joint work in the field of higher education. The working team will review the reactions of the concerned authorities in the GCC member states including the ministries, universities and institutions. The recommendations of the working team will b submitted to the GCC Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is worth mentioning that the working team was been formed by the GCC Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research at their 13th meeting held in Kuwait in March 2008. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
