Nasteh Dahir Farah, a reporter for the BBC and AP news agency, has been killed by unknown gunmen in the town of Kismayo, 500 kilometres south of Mogadishu, his wife said. Idil Farey told Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) that her 26-year-old husband had received death threats before he was shot several times in the chest on the way home from an internet cafe late on Saturday night. Witnesses said he was rushed to the hospital but died there. Farah is the second journalist killed in Somalia this year alone while eight other Somali journalists were murdered in 2007.
