Saudi Arabia's Airlift assistance concluded as the 5th plane under its humanitarian program touched down at Yangon airport, carrying over 70 tons of relief materials directed by The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz to help victims of the Cyclone 'Nargis' that struck Union of Myanmar recently. Speaking on the occasion, Saudi Ambassador to Union of Myanmar Turki Naji Al-Ali said with the arrival of the 5th airplane, the Saudi airlift assistance program concluded, adding that the Saudi Relief aid through sea route would begin soon. He extended his appreciation and thanks to The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for the humanitarian assistance which he felt would generate a positive impact on the Burmese people. On his part, The Burmese assistance officer said the Union of Myanmar has received relief aid from 35 states but the Saudi support and assistance is the biggest one, pointing out that the Kingdom's one airlift assistance is equal to several airlift assistance from other countries. The 5 Saudi airlift assistance launched last Sunday and concluded this morning with the arrival of the fifth plane, carried a total volume of 370 tons in urgent relief.
