An Afghan army soldier was killed by a bicycle bomb Thursday and a child died and three were injured in a militant attack against NATO bases in eastern Afghanistan, officials said according to DPA. The bomb was remotely detonated by the militants in the Khewajak Baba area of Kandahar city in the southern province of the same, killing the soldier and wounding another, said General Gul Agha Nayebi, an army commander in the region. The children were apparently caught in the crossfire insurgents targeted two International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) bases in the Asmar district of Kunar province, close to the Pakistan border.
