Tuweijiri said the seminar aims at developing academic, administrative and financial performances of the universities and discussing the challenges facing the system of quality education as well as enhancing cooperation among the Islamic universities in addition to benefiting from the international, Arab and Islamic experiences in this respect. On his part, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal expressed happiness for opening the seminar. He said it would be a good development to organize a seminar which is concerned with the promotion of the academic, administrative and financial performance. He noted that Islam urges its followers to perform their job perfectly and affirmed that the pillars of the Islamic civilization were based on knowledge and perfectiveness of performance. Prince Khalid pointed out that it has become an essential matter for the universities to give more attention to quality than to quantity. He said it is important for the universities to match the international standards and development taking into account the cultural specialty and meeting the requirements of the comprehensive development within the framework of cooperation and integration among the Islamic universities. Prince Khalid thanked ISESCO, the Federation of The Islamic Universities, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, and Ummal Qura University for hosting the seminar. Later Ummal Qura University and ISESCO honored Prince Khalid and a number of academicians for supporting the seminar. The seminar's first session entitled "Studies and Experiences" was held under the chairmanship of Dr Abdulaziz Al-Tuweijiri, the Director General of ISESCO, and Rapporteur of the session Dr Fawaz al-Omeiri.
