Faisal Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Makkah Region and Chairman of the Region's Council, will preside over the first session of the Council's second round at the Governorate headquarter in Makkah today. The session will include discussions of a number of topics, in addition to discussing reports issued by the Council's different committees regarding providing services to the Region's areas and villages. Also on Saturday, Prince Khaled will patronize the graduation ceremony of the 56th class of Umm Al-Qura University's 3,540 graduating students. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at King Abdul Aziz Historical Hall in the University City in Makkah's Abdiyah area. The Prince will also inaugurate on Saturday the Vocation Day and an exhibition that is to be held on the event's sidelines. The one-week event will be partaken by a number of sectors, and will include several training courses for job seekers on several issues such as the importance of well-written résumés and well-conducted job interviews. It will also include a lecture titled “Mastering the Job and its Influence on Job Security.” Also on Sunday, Prince Khaled will patronize an international symposium on quality and accreditation systems in higher education, which Umm Al-Qura University will host with the participation of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), which will be represented by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW). Umm Al-Qura University's President Dr. Adnan Bin Mohammad Wazzan said the University aims through hosting this event to implement the goals of the higher education development's strategy that was endorsed during the Third Islamic Conference of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministers that was held in Kuwait. The strategy aims to elevate higher education and develop it in a way that preserves cultural and intellectual infrastructures and fulfills the requirements of national development at the same time. __
