The General Authority for Civil Aviation said that upon arriving at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah today, the Saudi Arabian Airlines flight's plane coming from Dakar, a Boeing 747 rented from Phuket Air company, landed at about 11:04 a.m. along runway 34 safely after coordination with airport control tower but its pilot stopped it at the last exit of the runway due to a malfunction of the left wheels. The 424 passengers and 19 crew members left the plane safely. In a press statement today, the General Authority for Civil Aviation said the plane was pulled and stopped at a pathway and safety specialists of the Authority inspected the plane and it was discovered that that the external system of the landing wheels of the left wing did not come down as they were fixed at the wheels' door which prevented their coming down.
