A helicopter belonging to Ukraine's state gas company has crashed into the Black Sea, killing 19 people, a company official said Monday. The Mi-8 helicopter went down around 0630 GMT as it was trying to land on a drilling rig some 70 kilometers (40 miles) offshore, said Valentyn Zemlyansky, a spokesman for the company, Naftogaz. The craft hit a support pole on the rig with its tail then fell into the sea. The passengers were mainly gas company employees who were headed for the rig, the Associated Press reported. One person survived the crash, he said.
