A Hamas member drove a car laden with explosives to an Israeli border crossing with Gaza under the cover of morning fog Saturday and blew himself up, wounding six soldiers, the Associated Press reported. The suicide bombing at the Kerem Shalom crossing was the fifth attack on Israelis at Gaza passages since last week. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. Abu Obeida, spokesman for the Hamas military wing, said three booby-trapped cars were used in the attack on Kerem Shalom. «It is a step toward breaking the siege,» he said. Kerem Shalom is one of the remaining supply routes into Gaza. Earlier Saturday, a Hamas member was killed in a separate incident when Israeli troops raided a neighborhood of Gaza City.
