Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Bin Zainal Ali Reza received here today Eric D. Siegel President and Chief Executive Officer of Export Development Canada (EDC) and accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they reviewed commercial and industrial relations between the two countries and ways of developing and enhancing these ties. They also discussed the issue of taking advantage of all the opportunities and advantages available to establish investment projects between businessmen, and promoting opportunities for trade cooperation and achieve mutual benefits between the private sectors in both countries. The volume of trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and Canada in 2006 was valued at SR 7,989 million. Out of this volume, exports accounted for SR5, 426 million and imports were worth SR 2,563 million.
