The Executive Directors' Council of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) started here today its 251st session under the chairmanship of IDB President Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali. The Council reviewed reports and recommendations with regard to technical support that had been extended by the IDB to the financial sector in the Islamic world. It also discussed audited financial statements of a number of funds, which are affiliated to the Bank for the fiscal year that ended on 31/12/2007, along with a report about an increase in financial tracks provided by the bank to the Investment Fund under endowments properties. The council considered the approval of new finances to participate in a number of developmental projects and the provision of grants from the Endowment Fund affiliated to the Bank in favor of some Muslim communities in non-member states. This came in the framework of the Bank's continued efforts to participate in achieving economic development and social welfare in member states and in Muslim communities in non-member states.
