Pakistan's Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir, currently on a visit to China, disclosed today that Pakistan will host another naval exercise, 'Aman', said an official statement. He expressed the hope that Peoples' Liberation Army's (PLA) Navy will again participate in the exercise along with the navies of other countries in Pakistani waters that would help enhance understanding and stability in maritime domain in the world in March next year. The Naval hief will meet Chinese Defense Minister General Liang Guanglie, Commander of PLA Navy Admiral Wu Shengli and other senior officials. He will be the Chief Guest at the launching of first F-22P Frigate - PNS Zulfiqar at Hudong Shipyard in Shanghai on April 7. Under an agreement signed in 2005, China will build four of these series of ships, three in Hudong Shipyard, while the fourth one at the Karachi Shipyard with the support of transfer of technology. This is the first time Pakistan Navy has ordered large fighting units from China which demonstrate our trust in Chinese technology, said Admiral Tahir. "We are very thankful to PLA Navy which is providing whole hearted support for this project and also to ensure that these ships are constructed in accordance with the Naval standard and our requirements", he said.
