The payload of a Saudi relief plane which landed in Kenya yesterday in line with directives by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to provide humanitarian aid to the Kenyan government, was unloaded and delivered to Kenyan officials in Nairobi today. The payload, including medical and food aid weighing 10 tons, was handed over by the Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Eng. Nabeel Khalaf Ashoor to Kenya's Minister of Special Affairs Naoomi Shaaban. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi Ambassador considered the assistance a continuation to the approach of the Kingdom, led by the King and Crown Prince, to stand side by side of needy countries. He recalled that the Kingdom handed over 100 tons of dates to the Government of Kenya last year to face harsh weather that hit the African country. On her part, the Kenyan minister expressed thanks to and appreciation of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for its unlimited support for the Kenyan people. The delivery ceremony was attended by Ahmed Alsabt, representative of the Ministry of Finance, and staff members of the Saudi embassy in Nairobi.
